# workbench__set_sketch

> Puts the design sketch of the network in the pane, replacing the previous one.

## Behavior

* Carries the confirmed restate, every node with its job, model role and design principles, and the edges between nodes.
* Nodes keep their drafts across sketches. A drafted node left out of the new sketch is reported so it can be discarded.

| Available to | Effect |
| - | - |
| Workbench agents only | Read-only |

## Input

**edges** `object[]`

**edges.\[].from** `string` *required*

A node name

**edges.\[].kind** `enum\<string\>` *required*

Available options: `handoff`, `subagent`, `calls`

**edges.\[].to** `string` *required*

A node name, or an existing tool, plan or agent

**nodes** `object[]` *required*

**nodes.\[].job** `string` *required*

What this node does, in one sentence

**nodes.\[].kind** `enum\<string\>` *required*

Available options: `agent`, `plan`, `tool`

**nodes.\[].model** `string`

The model role it runs on (agents, prompt tools, and plan steps that call a model); omit when it calls no model

**nodes.\[].name** `string` *required*

The file's name: a tool name without user\_\_, a plan identifier, or an agent name

**nodes.\[].principles** `string[]`

The design principles this node applies

**nodes.\[].proposed** `boolean`

True for a node a pending question would add

**nodes.\[].returns** `string`

Its output, field by field, as the nodes that read it expect it

**nodes.\[].takes** `string`

Its input, field by field, as the nodes that call it will pass it

**restate** `object` *required*

**restate.constraint** `string` *required*

**restate.out\_of\_scope** `string[]` *required*

**restate.outcome** `string` *required*

**restate.success** `string` *required*

## Output

**drafted** `any[]`

**edges** `integer`

**nodes** `integer`

```json Output theme={null}
{
  "drafted": [],
  "edges": 3,
  "nodes": 4
}
```
