# image tools

> Generates images with an image model and stores them as files.

Generates images with an image model and stores them as files. The call's input takes `prompt`, `images` (refs to edit or reference), `aspect_ratio`, `size`, `count` and `path`; the result lists the images under `images`, each with a `ref`. Shipped as `builtin__generate_image`.

These fields go alongside the [common fields](https://graph.mintlify.site/tools/reference/tool-file#common-fields), with `kind: image`.

## Fields

**model** `string` (default: image)

An image model role. A chat or decision role fails the call.

**caller\_model** `boolean` (default: false)

Let the call's `model` input pick the role.
